Coles Miller Solicitors of Poole and Bournemouth was last month recognised for its support for employees in the Reserve Forces at a reception hosted by HRH The Prince of Wales at his Highgrove residence. Coles Miller Solicitors employs one Reservist who was recently mobilized on operations in Iraq.
Adrian Cormack, a Partner of Coles Miller Solicitors was one of more than 120 employers from across the UK who attended the reception. Brian Parsons, a legal executive with the Company who specializes in personal injury claims was mobilized to Iraq for six and a half months with the Devon and Dorset Regiment of the Rifle Volunteers. The company held a special leaving presentation for him and communicated with him via letter and email during his mobilization. Coles Miller also kept in touch with his family.
Thanking them for their ongoing support of Reservist employees, particularly those who have been mobilized, The Prince of Wales said: “The role played by the Reserve Forces is so important in today’s world. They make an incredible contribution in so many different parts of the world. I know how difficult it is for employers to release Reservists for service and I would like to thank you for the tremendous contribution you have made.”
Adrian Cormack of Coles Miller said "I believe it is important to support our Reservists. They perform an important role for the nation and the skills and experience they gain makes them valuable employees. We give them our full support".
Tim Corry, Campaign Director, SaBRE (Supporting Britain’s Reservists and Employers) said: “Mobilization is obviously a time of concern for Reservists and employers alike. To know that their employer is supportive makes a huge difference to Reservists. SaBRE’s role is to listen to employers’ concerns, relay these to the MOD, and support employers by providing information on the benefits, rights and obligations associated with employing a member of the Volunteer Reserve Forces".
