Let me say, most sincerely, that I am very much indebted to the help and advice that Stuart Bradford gave me during the last three turbulent months. His expertise in the complexities of powers of attorney, deputyships and eventually obtaining probate was essential for us to complete the execution of my responsibilities as executor of my mother’s will. Over the 16 years that we have lived in Poole we have also used Coles Miller for writing our wills, for the sale of a property we owned and each and every time we have received expert and highly professional advice and service. My husband and I would thoroughly recommend anyone who needs any legal help to use the expertise of the partners in Coles Miller and we will continue to use the company for any legal problems that we may encounter in the future.
Stuart is a Partner at Coles Miller and solicitor in the Private Client department in our Poole and Wimborne offices. His works covers all aspects of private client work including drafting wills, inheritance tax advice, probate, trusts, powers of attorney and court of protection as well as advice on local authority funding for long term care. Stuart is very good at putting his clients at ease by cutting through the legal jargon and explaining complex situations in a manner that is easily understood.
Stuart has been named a Court of Protection Panel Deputy to help families affected by Dementia and other mental capacity issues. He is one of only ten solicitors in the South West to hold this role and the only one in Dorset.
Stuart will work with the Court of Protection in Holborn, London and also with the Office of the Public Guardian which supports it. His role is to provide legal protection to people who have lost the ability to take decisions for themselves and have no family or friends to help them.
Stuart studied law at the University of Essex leaving in 1997 and completed his Legal Practice Course at the College of Law in London the following year. Stuart qualified as a solicitor in 2002 and joined Coles Miller from a local firm in 2011. Stuart then became an Associate of the firm in May 2013. He has been a member of the Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners (STEP) since 2007, a member of Solicitors for the Elderly and a member of the Law Society Probate section. He is also a Trustee at Forest Holme Hospice in Poole.
Stuart lives in Colehill near Wimborne and the majority of his time outside of work is spent running around after his three children. With the small amount of time he has to spare Stuart enjoys watching most sports (in particular motor racing), going to the cinema and reading.
