Best Wishes To Macmillan Dorset Bike Ride Fundraisers

oles Miller is again sponsoring the annual Macmillan Dorset Bike Ride – and three of its solicitors will be among the fantastic fundraising cyclists.

The team at Coles Miller has been sponsoring this popular annual fundraiser since 2019.  This year the Dorset law firm will donate more than £1,000 through its sponsorship.

Coles Miller Managing Partner Neil Andrews and Associate Solicitors Laura Hall and Charlotte Lilley will be riding routes of 63, 48 and 38 miles respectively. The July 3 event will start and finish at Corfe Mullen Recreation Ground in Badbury View Road.

All three solicitors have taken part in the event before, raising vital cash for Macmillan Cancer Support.

Neil Andrews is the head of Coles Miller’s Commercial Department and Business Property Law. It will be his sixth consecutive Macmillan Dorset Bike Ride so he’s well aware of how challenging it can be – especially “the hill out of Milton Abbas!”

Residential conveyancing solicitor Laura Hall is a keen cyclist who has ridden the Macmillan event three times already.

She rides at least once per week (though many of her miles are on a Zwift cycling trainer). Laura will be completing the Dorset course on one of her road bikes, either a Giant Liv Avail or a Ribble Aero Disc.

Charlotte Lilley is a commercial property solicitor who also has expertise in charity law. She recently helped with the launch of the Little Lady Locks charity in Manchester.

Charlotte loves the Macmillan event because “it’s a local ride open to all abilities.” She’ll be completing the course on her Liv Langma racer – the fifth time she’s taken part.

All three Coles Miller riders have special reasons for supporting Macmillan, having lost loved ones to cancer.

Charlotte said: “I lost my Nan to cancer in June 2020 and the Macmillan nurses were great – even during lockdown.”

Coles Miller Marketing Director Nick Balchin said: “We’re very proud to once more be supporting the Macmillan Dorset Bike Ride.

“It’s a fantastic event with a beautiful scenic route and distances that cater for all abilities. Best wishes to all the riders, organisers and supporters!” he added.

The Macmillan Dorset Bike Ride was founded in 1989 by Peter Smith-Nicholls as his way of continuing the fundraising he started with his ride from John O’Groats to Land’s End.

Since then, it has raised more than £1 million. Organisers are now targeting the £2 million mark. View the website www.macmillanbikeride.com
