Jessica Wins The Coles Miller Soccer Safety School Poster Contest16th Jun 2015
Ten-year-old schoolgirl Jessica McKai-Coyle will be helping to keep kids across Dorset safe after winning the Coles Miller Soccer Safety School poster contest.
Jessica beat entries from across the county to be named winner by AFC Bournemouth midfielder Dan Gosling.
And now her winning design will go on display at the Cherries’ Goldsands Stadium - ready for the Premiership.
Jessica has received a framed signed Cherries shirt as part of her prize and will also be invited to a Cherries Premiership home game for a special presentation on the pitch.
She is a pupil at Elm Academy, part of the Learning and Achievement (LeAF) Campus, in Holloway Avenue, Bournemouth.
The Coles Miller Marketing Team said: “We had a great response to the competition, which was open to more than 20,000 children. The quality of entries was excellent.
“Congratulations to Jessica - a worthy winner. Her important safety message will help to keep youngsters across the area safe and well.”
Coles Miller Soccer Safety School is run in partnership with AFC Bournemouth and the LV=Streetwise interactive safety centre, part of SafeWise.
Dan Gosling said: “I was really impressed with all the entries, which all emphasised how important it is to stay safe when out and about - whether that’s on the way to school or playing with friends.”
Jessica’s father Iain McKai said: “We’re very, very proud of Jessica. We know how hard she works at school - she’s a great achiever and in the top percentage at school.”
