Dorset solicitor to trek the Sahara for Forest Holme Hospice13th Sep 2013
A Poole conveyancing solicitor is about to embark upon a mammoth week long trek across the Sahara all to raise money for Forest Holme Hospice in Poole.
On 8th November 2013 Poole conveyancing solicitor Ruth Kerley, a partner at Coles Miller Solicitors will join a team of 10 other Sahara trekkers all taking part in the inspiring 6 day trek across some of Africa’s most challenging terrain.
The whole team will be raising money for Forest Holme Hospice, a centre of excellence in the care of those with life limiting illnesses and their families.
Taking in some of Africa’s famous destinations the team will trek through the Sahara sand, braving 40 degree heat during the day and plummeting to a freezing zero at night, whilst sleeping in basic tented conditions. The trek will culminate in reaching the summit of the famous Erg Chigaga sand dune commonly nicknamed “Eric”.
Ruth said: “I have lived in Poole all my life and I am passionate about the area. One of the reasons I chose Forest Holme Hospice is because I wanted to make sure that the money raised was going to be used to help local people. Forest Holme does a wonderful job helping people with life-limiting illnesses so I just wanted to give something back”
“I am most looking forward to the sunrise and sunset from the large dune known as Eric assuming I can get to the top of it in one piece!”
