Career Highlights

Throughout the course of my legal career, I've won a significant number of high value settlements for clients who’ve suffered catastrophic injuries as a result of road traffic or workplace accidents as well as lifechanging illnesses as a result of medical negligence. My specialisms include spinal injuries, limb loss and brain injuries including birth trauma related injuries such a cerebral palsy. My involvement does not always end even after achieving settlement, as I often continue to support my clients through personal injury trusts.

Notable cases;

Represented a Claimant who suffered a brain injury during birth which caused a life long cognitive impairment. Settlement was achieved at £21 million. Coles Miller continue to assist the Claimant through a personal injury trust, ensuring the settlement sum maintains the ongoing needs and care regime of the Claimant.

Represented the Claimant, a lift engineer who was left paralysed after falling through the side of a glass lift. The case involved a tough liability dispute with multiple Defendants involved. Settlement was achieved at £3.4 million. Coles Miller helped establish a personal injury trust for the Claimant.

Represented the Claimant, a child, who suffered from neonatal hypoxic brain injury and epilepsy as a result of birth trauma. Settlement was achieved at £15 million. Coles Miller continue to assist the Claimant through a personal injury trust and have assisted the Claimant in purchasing property, making necessary adaptations, and maintaining an ongoing care regime.

Represented the Claimant, an experienced Solicitor, who was involved in a serious road traffic accident in 2018. The Claimant suffered significant injuries, including a subdural haematoma, several rib fractures and an oblique fracture through the left hip. The Claimant’s subdural haematoma was later classified as a moderate/severe traumatic brain injury. As a result of the extensive injuries, the Claimant was unable to return to their pre-accident employment. Evidence was obtained from experts in the field of Neurology, Neuropsychology, Neuropsychiatry, Orthopaedic Surgery, Care and Accountancy. Liability was eventually admitted, but the parties continued to litigate and engaged in a complex dispute over quantum. The case was scheduled for trial at the High Court in London, but settled shortly beforehand by way of a Joint Settlement Meeting. The matter settled for £1 million. Coles Miller continue to assist the Claimant in their rehabilitation through a personal injury trust.
