Partner Coles Miller, Head of Residential Leasehold
Department: Residential Leasehold Property
Matthew Lewis became head of Coles Miller’s Residential Leasehold Property department on 1 May 2016 and a Partner at the firm on 1 May 2017.
He has spent his entire career specialising in residential leasehold matters, working with consultant and former Senior Partner Andrew Howard, a highly respected residential leasehold specialist. (Three of Andrew’s cases are cited in the leading text book on the subject.)
Residential leasehold property is a complex area of the law that requires specialist expertise. Matthew is specialising still further: he works closely with managing agents on contentious matters such as service charge disputes, breaches of covenant, enforcement and forfeiture.
Matthew is also a Trustee of Poole Citizens Advice. He has a long association with the bureau, having spent most of his spare time advising its clients on welfare reform and individual rights during his years of study.
Coles Miller is a member of the Association of Leasehold Enfranchisement Practitioners (ALEP).
