Coles Miller Solicitors have helped a Bournemouth motorist to claim £1 million in compensation after she was severely injured in a road accident.
The woman had been driving to work when her car was hit from behind by another vehicle. She had to be cut out of the wreckage. Her injuries included:
- a moderate/severe traumatic brain injury – bleeding inside the skull led to a blood clot that put pressure on the brain
- several fractured ribs
- an oblique fracture through the left hip.
Coles Miller’s personal injury solicitors obtained evidence from experts in neurology, neuropsychology, neuropsychiatry, orthopaedic surgery, care and accountancy.
The defendant admitted liability but the two parties continued to litigate and engaged in a complex dispute over the level of damages.
The case was scheduled for trial at the High Court in London but settled shortly beforehand for £1 million.

“This was a very serious accident. Our client went into shock and was intensive care for a week or so,” said Mr Cormack, who is Head of the Personal Injury Department at Coles Miller.
“Years after the accident, she continues to suffer from anxiety and is still undergoing counselling,” he added.
