Coles Miller Sponsors Brownsea Open Air Theatre's Henry IV14th Jul 2014
Shakespeare’s Henry IV comes to Poole’s Brownsea Island later this month with support from Dorset solicitors Coles Miller.
It’s the third year running that Coles Miller has sponsored Brownsea Open Air Theatre following productions of A Midsummer Night's Dream and Pericles last year and Love's Labour's Lost in 2012.
The charity players last year celebrated their 50th anniversary. In half a century they have raised more than £200,000 for the National Trust which cares for Brownsea Island plus many other Dorset landmarks.
Coles Miller’s sponsorship of Brownsea Open Air Theatre is a natural progression of its support of the National Trust, whose members receive a 10 per cent discount on the firm’s legal services.
Coles Miller Marketing Manager Lee Taylor said: “We’re very fortunate to live in a wonderful part of the world with treasures like Brownsea Island on our doorstep.
“As a firm, we’re very keen to help the National Trust to safeguard these treasures for generations to come.
“So we’re delighted to sponsor Brownsea Open Air Theatre - they have a fantastic cast and their superb productions sell out year after year,” he added.
Brownsea Open Air Theatre’s Henry IV is also supported by the Royal Shakespeare Company’s Open Stages project (2013-2016) which aims to “transform the relationship between amateur and professional theatres.”
Brownsea Open Air Theatre Henry IV director Denise Mallender is “extremely excited at the prospect of audiences enjoying the rare treat of both Henry IV Part One and Part Two in an edited form that keeps the pace, variety and humour of the two plays.”
The eight-night run of Henry IV will start on Wednesday July 23 and tickets are selling fast.
