Staff from Coles Miller Solicitors swapped the office for the bowls green this summer, taking part in - and winning - Bowls Bash 2025 at the Poole Park Bowls Club.
The three-week community event, held on 23rd July, 30th July and 6th August, invited local businesses to form teams and try their hand at the Bowls Bash - a fun, fast-paced, and informal version of the traditional game of bowls. Organised by Poole Park Bowls Club, the competition offered short tuition for all players, followed by friendly but fiercely contested matches across the club’s pristine greens.
There were a number of teams from across the local area, with matches played over three consecutive Wednesday evenings. Coles Miller rotated its team members each week, with different staff representing the firm at every game.
The results speak for themselves – with skill, teamwork, and determination, they achieved:
Week 1: Coles Miller stormed to victory in their opening match.
Week 2: A closely fought game saw the team narrowly beaten by just two points.
Week 3: Coles Miller bounced back with another win.
When the final points were tallied, the combination of two match wins and a strong points advantage saw Coles Miller crowned overall champions of Bowls Bash 2025.
A club with community spirit - and vision.
The firm extends heartfelt thanks to the welcoming and accommodating team at Poole Park Bowls Club, whose organisation and warm hospitality made this event not just competitive - but thoroughly enjoyable. Coles Miller was particularly impressed by the club's ambitious spirit.
Poole Park Bowls Club is pushing forward with a major enhancement initiative - its West Green Upgrade Works. Through a successful Crowdfunder campaign, already exceeding its £14,000 goal (raising approximately £16,920), the club is investing in critical infrastructure and quality improvements, including:
- Revitalising the playing surface with scarifying, aerating, fertilising, and eco-friendly treatments.
- Securing new equipment, including a mower budgeted at around £12,000.
These enhancements aim to cement the club’s status as one of the premier bowls venues on the South Coast, while ensuring accessibility through community offerings such as free taster sessions, leagues, youth development, sessions for disability groups, and outreach to Poole Hospital staff and patients.
Looking ahead: sponsorship and shared success
Coles Miller sees a wonderful opportunity to deepen its engagement with the club. Inspired by the Crowdfunder pledges already in place, and the plans to embark on works over the next two years, the firm is exploring possibilities to sponsor one of the rinks, joining an inspiring group of supporters who are helping to raise the club’s profile and facilities.
“We had a fantastic time at Bowls Bash this year,” said Taras Tymofijiw, Trust Executive ATT (fellow) at Coles Miller Solicitors. “It was a great way to bring colleagues together outside of the office, connect with other local professionals, and support a cherished community institution. We’re delighted to have won - but even more excited by the chance to contribute to the club’s future.”
This collaboration reflects Coles Miller’s commitment to supporting initiatives that grow community, wellbeing, and sport in and around Poole.
