Coles Miller Solicitors is mourning the passing of co-founder Arthur Cole who has died aged 94.
Mr Cole co-founded Coles Miller with his late brother Howard who started the firm in Poole town centre in 1954 after joining the legal profession in the 1920s.
Since then Coles Miller has become one of the leading law firms in Dorset. It has 14 partners, more than 110 members of staff and five offices in Poole, Bournemouth, Christchurch, Broadstone and Wimborne.
Senior Partner Roger Leedham said: “This is a very sad day for Coles Miller. We all owe Arthur and his late brother Howard an enormous debt for all that they did in establishing the firm.
“They would hopefully both be very proud of how Coles Miller has grown to be one of the largest and most respected firms in the area.
“Arthur was the first port of call for many local property developers and was hugely valued and trusted by them for his legal advice. He was responsible for the legal work involved in the creation of many local housing developments,” added Mr Leedham.
There will be a private family cremation on Friday July 28, followed by a memorial service at St Peter’s Church, Bournemouth and afterwards in the church hall.
