Supporting growth through the Trainee Solicitor Scheme
As well as welcoming new senior hires, Coles Miller continues to invest in the next generation of legal professionals through its highly successful Trainee Solicitor Scheme.
Each year, the firm offers a comprehensive two-year full-time training programme, beginning every September. Trainees rotate through four ‘seats,’ each lasting six months, covering both contentious and non-contentious areas of law. This structure ensures every trainee gains the well-rounded experience required by the Solicitors Regulation Authority - while discovering where their individual strengths and passions lie.
Trainees are encouraged to take on meaningful responsibility early in their careers, including client contact and case involvement, supported by regular reviews and mentoring from senior solicitors and the firm’s Training Principal. Coles Miller takes each trainee’s preferences into account when allocating departments and often ensures the final seat is within the area they hope to qualify into.
