Neil Andrews

Coles Miller’s new Redundancy Rights web page includes the latest information on:

  • Redundancy Notice - and what happens if the notice period procedure is not followed  properly
  • Redundancy Payments - how much employees are entitled to be paid, based on their age, length of service and the maximum limits
  • Redundancy Consultation - employees’ right to be consulted over job losses, the right to be represented by a trade union or elected spokesperson
  • Unfair dismissal - how redundancy procedures that have not been handled correctly may result in employers discriminating against employees, either deliberately or unwittingly.

Coles Miller employment law solicitor Neil Andrews said: “Redundancies can be challenging and emotive for both employers and employees.

“By their very nature, redundancies are most likely to occur at difficult times - but this is no excuse for employers who carry out the procedures incorrectly. They must comply with the regulations.”

Coles Miller’s employment law expertise includes unfair dismissal, discrimination claims, flexible working, TUPE and business reorganisations.

Coles Miller has 14 Partners and 120 staff based at four offices in Bournemouth, Poole, Broadstone and Wimborne.
