Thirty two years ago Roger Leedham joined Coles Miller as a trainee solicitor – now he has become Senior Partner.
His achievement is unusual in an age when jobs for life and staying with the same firm are the exception rather than the norm.
Mr Leedham, who is head of the Residential Conveyancing Department at Coles Miller, has succeeded Andrew Howard as Senior Partner.
Mr Howard, who leads the Residential Leasehold Department, will continue to work as a consultant at Coles Miller.
The previous Senior Partner, wills and probate solicitor David Parfitt, also continues as a consultant.
Mr Leedham said: “It is a privilege to be named Senior Partner and I look forward to steering the firm through what promises to be an exciting time.”
Coles Miller’s Residential Conveyancing team is one of the largest departments at the firm. It includes three partners.
Coles Miller also helps clients with family law, wills and probate, residential leasehold law, commercial and employment law, personal injury and medical negligence claims, debt recovery, disputes and litigation.
The 12-partner firm employs around 110 staff at its offices in Poole, Bournemouth, Christchurch, Broadstone and Wimborne.
It is recommended in the Legal 500 guide to the country’s top lawyers for its experience and expertise in handling complex personal injury and medical negligence compensation claims.
