Dorset law firm Coles Miller has collected 68kg of emergency food to help people in need across the Bournemouth and Poole area.
Staff at the firm’s offices in Poole, Bournemouth, Christchurch, Broadstone and Wimborne have donated the food to Poole Foodbank.
Items included tinned vegetables and fruit, beans, soups, spaghetti and rice.
The food will be handed out to people in urgent need, based on a voucher system. Recipients are identified by frontline professionals including doctors, social workers and Citizens Advice.
Coles Miller is one of a number of law firms taking it in turns to collect donations for foodbanks throughout the year.
The campaign is being organised by Bournemouth & District Junior Lawyers Division.
Coles Miller’s efforts were supported by Poole marketing agency Intergage. Its staff rallied round by donating tinned food and publicising the appeal.
Coles Miller trainee solicitor Darren Francis said: “We’re very grateful for everyone’s help in supporting this very worthwhile local cause.
“In recent years there has been increasing awareness of the foodbanks and the need for them,” he added.
Poole Foodbank manager Gill Payne has thanked Coles Miller for the “huge trolley load of food”.
She said: “It was very kind of Coles Miller to think of us when considering a local charity to support.
“At Poole Foodbank we support many people – some of whom are the most vulnerable people in our community – at a time of crisis. Your support helps us to continue with this essential work,” she added.
