Bus safety in the spotlight following bus crash on the A350 in Dorset17th Oct 2012
Following the recent First bus crash in Poole, Dorset solicitors Coles Miller have called for improved safety measures to avoid any other cases of personal injury happening again in the future.
The recent accident, which happened near Upton in Poole, saw a double-decker bus carrying over 40 students career off the road near Lytchett Minster and flip on its side at the bottom of a eight-foot embankment.
Simon Steele-Williams, a Law Society Personal Injury Panel member and partner in Coles Miller's specialist personal injury team said:
"We wish all of those injured a quick and complete return to health. Unfortunately we see all too many cases where passengers have had their lives changed dramatically following incidents like this.
"Bus companies owe a duty of care to their passengers for their safety I would urge for lessons to be learnt from this and that steps are taken to improve safety standards to reduce the risk of similar incidents like this happening again in the future.
