Emma 2According to reports in the news, yesterday was officially been billed "Divorce Day" judged by many as the most likely day a person will contact a divorce lawyer.

This spike is sometimes attributed to the stress and strain of families coming together over the festive season.

January is traditionally a time for a new start and we generally do see this reflected in the number of new enquiries we receive, particularly in the first couple of weeks of the New Year.

But most importantly, and before reaching a final decision to bring a marriage to an end, it is important that you get the right advice and information at an early stage. This can help to support couples thinking about separating.

There are of course alternatives to divorce and a good family law expert will be able to advise you on these options. It is vital that things are moved forward in a sensible and amicable way and not done in the heat of the moment.

At Coles Miller we have a team of family lawyers throughout Dorset who are pleased to offer general information as well as detailed advice to individuals the options that are right for you. Whether it is divorce or mediation services for couples who have issues to resolve as a consequence of a relationship breakdown, we can help provide you with that legal advice.
